There are seven continents of the world, separated by oceans. The continents are: Africa, Asia, Antarctica, Australia, Europe, North America, and South America.
This continent consists of 53 countries, and its land mass crosses over the equator. The Atlantic and Indian Oceans border the continent.
Asia:
Asia has the largest population of any other continent, and contains 53 countries. Asia is attached to Europe and is in the Northern and Eastern Hemispheres.
Antarctica has such harsh climatic conditions, including unbelievable cold, that it is unable to provide a home to human beings. It is the only continent to have a population of zero.
Australia is the only land mass to be a total island and a continent all in one. It is also the smallest continent in the world, located in the Southern Hemisphere. Australia consists of six states, two major mainland territories, and other minor territories.
This continent is attached to Asia and is located in the Northern hemisphere. There are currently 47 countries in Europe.
There are three territories in North America: Canada, Mexico, and the United States. North America is the fourth largest populated continent, with the U.S. consisting of 50 states. It is located in the Northern and Western hemispheres.
South America is located in the Southern and Western hemispheres, being bordered by the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. There are 15 territories in South America.
